Colorado cities among best for job growth – Forbes

Three of the best cities for jobs in the United States are in Colorado, according to Forbes, which considered job creation and whether that growth is accelerating or slowing in making its list.

Actually, there are three lists: one for small cities (less than 150,000 nonfarm jobs), medium-sized cities (150,000 to 450,000 nonfarm jobs) and large cities (more than 450,000 nonfarm jobs).

Greeley was ranked fifth among small cities, with a 5.6 percent job growth last year and a 12.2 percent increase between 2008 and 2013.

Boulder was first among medium-sized cities. Boulder had a 3.2 percent increase in jobs last year and a 7 percent increase over the five-year period.

Denver — which Forbes expanded to include the Aurora and Broomfield areas — was No. 10 among large cities. The area had a 3 percent job growth in 2013 and a 5.8 percent increase between 2008 and 2013.
